Best Trailer Hitch Choice for 2017 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

Which of two trailer hitches on your website for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma truck do you feel is the best for my truck. Which has had the easiest or least of a hassle from other buyers for mounting to my trucks frame and not having problems with the holes lining up. I believe my towing capacity is 3500 pounds, but I rather have more than just enough. Thank you.

Of the available hitches for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma, my choice would be between the etrailer brand # e98905 or the Curt # C13264 Class III hitch. The frame mounting flanges for both hitches extend inboard versus to the outboard which means the hitch is less likely to be damaged during transport and would fit better.

Both hitches have a 6K towing/900 lb tongue weight capacity, which is well over the capacity of the truck itself.

The Curt and etrailer brand hitches are functionally identical, with the only difference being that the Curt hitch has a glossy finish, while the etrailer brand has a matte finish. I personally prefer the matte finish, as it seems to blend in under the vehicle better than the glossy Curt hitch does.

If you need a trailer wiring harness, I'd recommend the Curt # C56349, a ball mount like # 2753 and part # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for 2 inch trailer ball.
