To determine if the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Platform Bike Rack, # SH22G, will fit on your 2004 Honda CR-V, you will want to take one important measurement. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the rear-most point of your spare tire.
The Sherpa 2.0 measures 13 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the first bike platform. That will be the center of your bike. From there, you can find the width of your bike at your seat and pedals to determine if they will hit your spare tire. This bike rack also measures 9 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack when folded up.
If you find that this bike rack will not fit, then you may want to take a look at the Thule T2 Platform Bike Rack, # TH83JV. This bike rack measures 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack, but only 5 inches when folded. This bike rack will probably not fit when folded, but it will give you more clearance when you are carrying your bikes.
The T2 bike rack that I referenced will fit 2 inch trailer hitches only. If you have a 1-1/4 inch hitch on your CR-V, then you will want the T2 Classic bike rack, # TH9045. I have attached video demonstrations of each of these bike racks for you to check out.
