Best Towing Option For A 2022 Keystone Montana 3121RL Pulled With A 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 6-3/4 Bed

Question:

I have seen many recommendations to get a slider hitch, and other people saying that the Reese Goose Box is a good option. Does the Reese Goose Box push the trailer slightly towards the back of the bed or towards the cab? I would be worried about it getting closer to the bed causing potential issues Context I have a 2021 GMC 3500 with the standard Bed 82 inches and a 2022 Keystone Montana 3121RL on Order

The Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR is only going to be roughly 3/4" longer from the 5th wheel pin box that comes standard on your 2022 Keystone Montana 3121RL. For this reason I do not recommend using this when towing with your 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 with the standard length bed. To make it simple the rear axle center line is approximately 42" from the cab of your Sierra. The Montana is 8' wide, at a full jackknife turn 6" of your Sierra is going to take up space in your Montana.

I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 for your application. This slider hitch automatically moves the camper away from your cab as you turn up to 14" away. This ensures that you do not accidently damage either your Montana or Sierra as your turning. As your Montana uses a Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC328330 you will need to use the Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates for Trailair Rota-Flex Pin Boxes # DM6171 to use the 5th wheel hitch properly.

To mount the Demco Hijacker # DM8550034 in your bed you will need either the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6333 if your Sierra has the factory in bed hitch prep/puck system.

Or you will need to use the Demco Hijacker # DM8550022 with the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit # DR37FR if you do not already have the factory in bed hitch prep/puck system.
