Is Weight Distribution Hitch Recommended For 2019 Ram 1500 Towing 35' 7190lb Dry Weight Trailer
Question:
Trailer is 35foot long, empty trailer weight is 7190, truck max towing weight is 11,524. Truck has 4 corner air suspension and 3.92 rear axle ratio. Do I need trailer sway, weight dist system or both, and which would you recommend. Thanks!

With the empty weight of your trailer exceeding the weight of your 2019 Ram 1500 I highly recommend going with a weight distribution hitch with quality sway control.
To determine the correct hitch you will need to determine your total tongue weight. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your truck. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a tongue weight scale like the # e99044 but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.
You will likely need either the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1000 which works with tongue weights between 600-1000lbs, or the # FA92-00-1200 which works with total tongue weights between 800-1200lbs. Ideally you want a system in which your total tongue weight is right in the middle of its tongue weight range.
The Fastway hitches are my recommendation due to the quality of the hitch for the price, and for them having a very good 2 point sway control that does a good job of keeping your trailer straight when going down the road.
If you can let me know your total tongue weight I would be happy to confirm the correct weight distribution hitch for you.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
