Trailer Hitch Receivers Available For The 2022 Hyundai Tucson
Question:
Are there heavy duty hitches with different towing capacities to allow heavier tongue weights and trailer weights? I want to install a hitch on a 2022 Hyundai Tucson, which will be towing a tandem axle, 7x10 enclosed motorcycle trailer with a single Harley-Davidson. I dont know if the hitch you sell is capable of towing and/or sustaining such a weight. What does the Class III indicator of a hitch mean? Thx.

Currently there are 2 trailer hitch receivers that are a custom fit for your 2022 Hyundai Tucson.
Both the Curt # C94WR and Draw-Tite # DT22MR have the same weight rating of 525lbs of tongue weight and 3,500lbs total towing capacity. You will want to verify with your dealer as to the maximum tow rating of your Tucson based on the equipment installed from the factory. With the combination of these ratings be sure to use the lower ratings that you get from either the dealer or the receiver to determine if you can haul your enclosed trailer with your Harley-Davidson. Both receivers install with 6 fasteners which are included to factory weld nuts that are already on your frame.
I recommend the Draw-Tite Receiver # DT22MR over the Curt as there are less welds attaching the solid frame plate to the cross tube. And they include a mounting tab in the receiver tube that will support a Mounting Bracket # 18144 for a 4-way flat wiring harness.
The class III rating found on both of these receivers means that it has a 2" receiver tube and has a weight rating that is between 300-800lbs of tongue weight and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500-8,000lbs. I have linked an article below that will fully cover all 5 classes and the differences between all the classes.
