Replacement AC Unit For Dometic Setup With LED Air Distribution Box

Question:

My RV is at a repair shop and I am 2000 miles away. The warranty company has approved costs for a fan motor, but the part is on back order so I was considering upgrading to a whole new unit as I only need pay the cost difference for the parts. I have been considering replacing my whole unit anyway with a Furrion and getting the electronic airbox with premium thermostat but I dont want to have the current repair facility do the replacement of the thermostat right now. Are there any issues/gotchas if I were to order this item in order to quickly replace my Dometic Brisk AC and then later wanted to upgrade to the Electronic Airbox and Thermostat? Are there holes/screws that become an issue? If I also buy the electronic airbox now, would it work except for the light or does the airbox require the Furrion electronics for something other than the light?

What I think you are saying is that you want to replace your current AC right now with the Furrion Chill, # FR29SR. Which is the correct replacement/upgrade for your current unit. This can be installed using your current thermostat and air distribution box. However, you want to later upgrade to the thermostat and air distribution box. Yes, you can install the AC unit now and upgrade later.

The Replacement Air Distribution Box w/ LEDs for Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner, # FACT12LA-PS is an easy process to remove and replace. It is designed for use with Furrion Chill thermostats and zone controllers. You will need Wall Thermostat for Furrion Chill Rooftop Camper AC - Single Zone, # FR33PR along with Replacement Single Zone Controller, # FACC12SA-BL. I have attached an installation video for the controller along with a demonstration video for the thermostat.
