What Is The Useable Space Of The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Y08107?
Question:
How much useableinch space is the width of the Rack and Roll 78inch trailer? The specs say the trailer is 6-1/2 wide but I am guessing that includes the wheels and fenders. I just got a Hobie Mirage Oasis Tandem Kayak and its width is 33 inches. I want to add either a Yakima Skybox 18 cargo box 36 inches wide or Thule XT XL cargo box 33-3/4 inches wide and want to know if I can place these side by side. I want to carry the kayak upside down and not on its side. Will either of these 2 cargo boxes fit on the trailer w/the kayak? And if both will fit, which one do you recommend? Thanks.

On the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 78" # Y08107 you were looking at you will have 78" of useable space as that is the length of the crossbars.
Since your Hobie Mirage Tandem Kayak is only 33" wide either the Yakima Sky Box 18 # Y07336 or Thule Force XT XL # TH6358B will fit just fine.
Between these two I recommend the Yakima Sky Box 18 # Y07336 due to it working with crossbar spreads up to 48" which is ideal for this trailer and carrying a kayak, where the # TH635B only works with crossbar spreads up to 35-1/2".
