Hitch To Fit 2005 Dodge Caravan With VMI Modifications
Question:
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SE w/ VMI modifications. My van was modified to suit my disabled father and has a motor that lowers the rear axle when the electric ramp is used. There are no middle row of seats and the rear bench is further back than in an unmodified Caravan. Do you sell a hitch that I can fit that wont interfere with the raise/lower ability of the van? Im not planning to tow anything with it, simply to use a cargo carrier.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C12289 will in fact, fit your 2005 Dodge Caravan SE. The hitch will not interfere with any of the vans VMI modifications as it does not get close enough to the rear axle. Additionally, when the hitch it fully installed it is approximately 12 1/4 inches from the top of the receiver tube opening, to the ground giving you plenty of clearance. To fully ensure that our product will fit your vehicle, it would be a good idea and check the instructions and get underneath the vehicle to verify 100 percent fitment; sometimes specialty vehicles are completely different on the underside.
Since you mentioned you would like to primarily use it as a cargo carrier the Curt Cargo Carrier # C18145 is an excellent option.

Hi Bryce, I have a 2022 Honda Odyssy handicap van with a VMI Side load conversion. I have been told that the standard hitch for a Honda Odyssy will not fit. I wanted to know if you know what trailer hitch might fit my van. Thanks, Penn DuPuis 703-725-3080
