Question:

Looking for guidance on how to attach a Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray Aluminum - 84inch Long x 54inch Wide Item # Y05048 on a 2007 Suburban. Not really finding a clear description of how it attaches. Thanks.

The Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray - Aluminum - 84" Long x 54" Wide, part # Y05048, needs a roof rack in order to attach to your 2007 Chevy Suburban. Your vehicle's roof either has raised rails or fixed points, so it has two separate roof rack fits. Each option has a maximum weight limit of 165lbs. Please keep this in mind because the weight of the rack and the accessories are part of the maximum weight limit and the LockNLoad Platform weighs 70lbs and the roof rack will weigh approximately 19 lbs.

If your roof has raised rails your Yakima rack would consist of the following;

TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Qty 4, part # Y33TR and the
LockNLoad SL Adapter for Yakima SkyLine and TimberLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y05042-2.

These towers clamp to the raised rails of your vehicle. The LockNLoad SL Adapter attaches the platform directly to your Timberline towers. I definitely recommend adding the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores to secure the rack to your vehicle. I will include a link below.

If your vehicle has fixed points your roof rack will consist of the following;

SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4, part # Y53TR,
Landing Pad 1 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 4, part # Y00221, and the
LockNLoad SL Adapter for Yakima SkyLine and TimberLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y05042-2..

This rack attaches to fixed points on the roof of your vehicle via the Landing Pad. The LockNLoad SL Adapters will work the same way as previously described, they will attach the LockNLoad platform directly to the SkyLine Towers .

I have included product descriptions, video demos, and a link to the Yakima SKS Lock Cores below.
