Adapter to Connect Separate Turn Signals/Stop Lights on Trailer that has Combined Wiring
Question:
I am rewiring a trailer. I have installed new 3 wire LED lights on the back corners. They are working fine. I also have 2 4inch square mounting points for lights at the back of the trailer. The only lights I found to fit these are two wire lights. When I hook them up my other lights have issues. The 2 wire lights are made to ground to the frame. However it seems if I connect a ground to the frame that doesnt solve the problem. How can I use these 2 wire lights and 3 wire lights together?

Expert Reply:
To use a three wire light that grounds via a wire instead of through mounting hardware typically all you have to do is run the ground wire directly to the frame or mounting hardware and you're set.
You might check to make sure the main ground wire of the trailer is connected solidly to the trailer frame as well.
