Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I just bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that already has the Base Plate installed with cross bar and light plug. How can I buy just the arms? The base plate has the angled receivers. Just tell me what Parts I need including the tow bar and I will order. Thanks

From the picture you provided it looks like you have the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # 1425-1. To get replacement arms for it you'll need to fill out the form that pops up when you click on the "installations details" link of the Roadmaster Replacement Arms for Base Plate Kits Item # RM-ARMS and send it into Roadmaster.
To flat tow your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee you'll also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000lbs Item # RM-522. This tow bar has a non-binding feature that makes attaching and disconnecting from the base plates on any terrain super easy.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Wire Hybrid Cord Item # RM-152-1676-7. Looking at the picture you provided it looks like you already have a 6-wire port installed on the front of your base plate so you may only just need the cable # C59HR. This kind of wiring system splices into your vehicle's wiring to signal using the tail lights instead of running magnetic lights to the rear of your vehicle every time you want to tow.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional Item # HM39524. This braking system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking from your RV using the remote. The included charge line kit will keep your towed vehicle's battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643 the coiled design will help prevent the cables from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
