Replacement keys for Diversi-Tech Locking Ball mounts, part # DTKEYR
Question:
Can I order replacement keys for my Alum Adj receiver? Diversi Tech brand. Both receiver & ball mount use same key. Both keys broke when being used on receiver as I switch balls often 10-15 times weekly. Any suggestions on stopping the keys from breaking off in locks?

You can order replacement keys for your Diversi-Tech aluminum adjustable ball mount. You will just need the number off of your existing key and then type in # DTKEYR(followed by your key number). We have all currently available replacement keys listed on our website for the Diversi-Tech Locking Ball Mounts.
My contact at Diversi-Tech said the ball mount most likely has corrosion build-up inside from either liquid de-ice chemicals, road salt or car wash soaps. He said you need to pour air tool oil directly into the lock cylinders until full, then wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to work its way down into the stainless steel parts and then repeat this process 2 more times. Let the ball mount sit overnight with the lock cylinders face up to allow the air tool oil to penetrate the internal parts and break up the corrosion inside. The next morning, try to clamp onto the base of one of the keys with a small pair of vise grip pliers to help you turn the key in the lock without breaking it.
If the ball mount is stuck on your truck, have a friend insert, push, and turn on the key while you tap on the retractable hitch pins with a small socket extension or punch. Please tap once on one side and then go back and forth until the pins both start moving in together at the same time.
