Troubleshooting Lippert High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack LC298707 Not Leveling Trailer

Question:

I installed two sets of the Lippert Power Jacks on my 26foot Grand Design Travel Trailer, in place of manual up/down stabilizers. They work fine, however, I have a difficult time getting my trailer level side to side. The trailer has a large slider on the curb side. With the manual jacks I would level the rig before extending the slider, lower the jacks, then extend the slider and it would stay level. With the Lippert Power Jacks......I am level when I lower the jacks, then after I extend the slider I get a noticeable lean to the curb side where the slider is extended. This gets to be frustrating when setting up. The only workaround I have found is to have the curb slide slightly higher BEFORE I lower the jacks, then when I extend the slider I am generally level...however this is always a little hit and miss and often i am not completely level. I understand the Lippert Power Jacks allow movement in the center section to allow for differences in terrain side-to-side when lowering the jacks, but the system does not appear to keep the side-to-side balance in place. As much as I like the system, this to me is a design flaw for anyone with a trailer with a single slide out. Is there anything else that can be done with the Lippert Power Jacks to address this situation?

I would be happy to help!

The Lippert High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack - Black Waterproof Switch Kit - 30" Lift # LC298707 you mentioned is not designed for leveling your 26' Grand Design Travel Trailer, and is only designed to be used to stabilize the trailer.

You will first need to level the trailer using block similar to the Ultra-Fab Leveling Blocks for Trailers and RVs - 8-1/4" Wide x 8-1/4" Long - Qty 8 # UF48-979052 to get the trailer level side to side, and then use the tongue jack to level front to back.

Once the trailer is level you can then extend the stabilizers. Once they are touching the ground you want to extended them for another second or so to stiffen them up.

Using these stabilizers to level the trailer will put too much stress on them, and will damage them.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
