Is Demco Recon DM8550045-5W Compatible W/ B&W Turnoverball BWGNRK1020 In 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500?

I have a 2021 Chevy 2500HD with standard bed. I use the Demco Recon 8550045 with my 2015 Chevy 2500HD. Will the mounting of the BW 1020 to rear of axle affect towing weight with Recon having a 3inch offset to rear. This will put 5th wheel pin center 5inch to rear of axle. Im not sure if the Recon can turn around like the Anderson Ultimate can.

You will not have any issues using the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1020 you are planning on installing in your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with your Demco Recon 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550045-5W.

The # BWGNRK1020 will be pretty close to centered over your rear axle, and even though the Recon has the ball portion facing the cab which will cause it to be slightly offset, the weight will still be distributed through the hitch which is centered. Keep in mind since your truck has the 6-3/4' bed you may not have enough cab to trailer clearance to make a sharp turn. If you choose to use this hitch then you will want to take the trailer to a parking lot and have a friend watch the clearance as you make turns so you can get familiar with how sharp you can turn without damage.

On short bed trucks like yours a sliding 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400 is recommended for additional cab to trailer clearance when turning.

This will not affect the towing weight of your truck, but you will be limited to the lower rating between the two hitches, and the towing capacity of your truck.
