Can Trailer Landing Gear Box be Removed from Trailer with Jacks on Ground

Does the trailer need to be off the ground to remove landing gear gearbox? Also what gear and slip for the cross member is needed?

If you were to remove the landing gear box from the set like with part # RVLG-RDBOX the jack legs would not free-spin and lower themselves so you could remove the box with the jacks holding the weight of the trailer or not.

We do not carry the cross shafts for this jack though.

The gear boxes do look pretty similar, but for a Stromberg Carlson gear box you would have to use the Lippert motor kit part #LG-142178. The Ram gear box is different and would not work.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
