What Hardware Is Needed To Mount CE Smith Panel Bracket CE10305G For 12" Keel Roller?

Hi, I just received my order for CE smith self centering keel roller, 12” bracket mount, u bolts and shat with pal nuts. I’m not sure where I should install these. I only see 2 actual cross beams on the trailer the middle being the axel shaft. The beam at the backend/stern has a light bar from Etrailer, MC93RB. I’m going to try and attach pictures. Also, is it best to install the bracket with the roller on it to the back side of the beam so when loading the boat the full bracket is facing the boat? Or the other way?

To mount the CE Smith Panel Bracket for 12" Boat Trailer Rollers - Galvanized Steel # CE10305G you were looking at you have two options.

The first being welding the bracket to your trailer. If you go this route you need to make sure to sand off the galvanized coating as it gives off a harmful gas when it is welded.

The second and more common option is using U-bolts. The U-bolts will need to match the size of the frame on your trailer so you will need to measure that. For example we have the CE Smith U-Bolts - Galvanized - 3-13/16" Long x 3-1/16" Wide x 1/2" Diameter - Qty 2 # CE15283GA-2 which fits 3" x 3" frames. If your frame is a different size just let me know.

Lastly to mount the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers - Self Centering - PVC - 12" - 5/8" Shaft - Amber # CE29505 to the bracket you will also Roller Shaft with Pal Nuts for Boat Trailer Rollers - Zinc-Plated Steel - 13" x 5/8" # CE10727A.

Thank you for your business! You want the Keel Roller to be as close to the stern of the boat as possible to help center the boat while loading. Since you mentioned that the you have a light bar on the stern, the # MC93RB, you can move it to one side of the support which will give you plenty of room to mount the keel roller and bracket. If you would rather keep the light where it is then you will want to mount the keel roller and bracket on the next furthest back support that is not the axle, though you will be giving up a little performance having the roller located so far forward.
