Hauling Kayaks On A Fiberglass Truck Cap

Question:

Hello... need some help please. We have two 10inch long Lifetime fishing Kayaks. We want to haul them on top of the fiberglass cap on our 2005 Chevy Silverado truck. What type of rail and bar systems do you have that will work? Also, we would need the Jinch hooks to hold the kayaks that connect to the bars. I have looked but everything is on back order. Please let me know what you have and what the price would be. Is there another way to haul them on top of the truck that doesnt use a rail bar system? We cant haul them in the bed of the truck as we pull a camper and they stick out too far.

You will need to install tracks to your fiberglass cap and then you can attach a roof rack to those tracks. I recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells - Track Mount - Black - Standard - 54" Long, part # Y02-480B. This is a track and roof rack combination. It has a weight limit of 220lbs. You will be able to adjust the position of the legs on the tracks. The Vortex Aerobars have a t-channel so they will accept and accessories that attach via channel. Accessories that clamp to crossbars will work with this rack as well. The feet will also lock to the track.

The last piece you need are the j-style carriers for your kayaks. The Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier - Folding - Universal Mount, part # S512. It is a traditional j-style carrier with the added feature of folding when not in use. If you keep it on the vehicle you can fold it down to make it less obtrusive or you can remove it, but still fold it for storage. It comes with two cam straps and bow and stern tie downs.

I have included product description links and video review links below.
