How To Use Equal-i-zer 1400/14000lb Weight Distribution Hitch In 2021 Ford F-350 W/ 3" Receiver

Question:

Read all the reviews, not quite sure Ive found the right answer. I have a 2021 F-250 w/ a 3in receiver, a 4 point Equalizer 14k WDH with a 2in WDH shank - all with 5/8in pin holes, and a 36ft travel trailer w/ a tongue weight around 1,200 fully loaded. The Buyers 3 to 2 reducer # 337RTA302 has a capacity of 1,200 lbs tongue weight and 12,000 trailering capacities which reduces the mfgr hitch/tongue and towing capacities. The Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3inch to 2-1/2inch or 2, Item # C45408, have 3/4in pin holes which is too large for a 5/8in pin and creates unsafe slop in the sleeves. What is the right answer to tow my travel trailer with current WDH and 3in hitch?

I have another option for you, but due to the tongue weight of your trailer being right at the max 1200lb rating of the Buyers Products # 337RTA302, and your 2021 Ford F-350's 3" trailer hitch receiver having a hitch pin hole of 5/8" meaning it will not work correctly with the # C45408 I do not recommend either of these option.

Instead I recommend using the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 3" to 2-1/2" # BWRHXA2183 to reduce your 3" receiver to 2-1/2", then replacing your shank with one designed for a 2-1/2" receiver like the # EQ90-02-4700 which has 7" rise or a 3" drop.

If you need a shank with more rise/drop then I recommend the # EQ94FR which has 13" rise or 9" drop.

This option will keep the 1400lb tongue weight rating of your weight distribution hitch.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
