Battery Drains Flat Towing 2019 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

I currently tow the above mentioned Dodge 4wd. But sometimes after a long trip Not always when I unhitch the battery has died. What am I doing wrong? I assume the truck is getting power for all the lights and brake lights from our coach. But what is causing the battery to die? I am considering disconnecting the battery. Will this cause any problem towing the truck?

Your experience dictates that something is using your battery's power while being flat towed. I would follow your owner's manual guidance for flat towing, including what state the ignition is in. In the meantime, I would not disconnect your battery. Your RAM is not suppose to need a battery charge line, but it would most likely fix your battery problem.

You can install the Roadmaster # RM-156-25 Battery Charge Line Kit. This will feed 12 volts DC from the tow vehicle to your RAM's battery.
