Recommended Replacement Axle for a 1986 Shoreland'r Trailer
Question:
Hello! I have a 1986 Shorelandr trailer Model SSC161200 that Im trying to replace the axel on. The hub face measurement is 58inches but the kicker is the spring center measurement of 39 inches. I can find plenty of axels with the right hub face measurement, but nothing that has the 39 inch spring center measurement. The trailer is a sort of triangular shape, and the leaf springs are angled to the axel slightly, not perfectly perpendicular. How critical is the spring spacing and do you have anything that is closer to my measurements?

The spring center measurement is pretty important as you do want the leaf springs to flex straight up and down and not at an angle. That being said, we are not going to have anything closer to the 39 inch measurement you got. I'm guessing that was something Shoreland'r had specifically built for this trailer model, as it is an unusual size.
What may be a better option, however, would be a Timbren Axle-Less System, like the # A20RS545. This will negate the need of leaf springs and would bolt to the trailer frame. It will also give you independent suspension on the trailer, making the ride better.
