Recommended Hitch Bike Rack For Two Hybrid Bikes
Question:
I just installed the hitch on my 2018 Ram Promaster City Van. The video was very helpful. I was only temporarily slowed down by my lack of offset driver. Now I need the proper rack for 2 26 Hybrid Bikes as per photos. One is a Ladys, the other a Mens. I prefer not to break the bankinch on this as it all adds up. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

You have the option of going with a hanging bike rack or a platform bike rack. I will give you a recommendation of each option.
If you go with a hanging bike hitch rack I recommend the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part # Y02457. What I like most about this rack is its installation into the hitch receiver. It uses a wedge for its anti-rattle hitch. So once you get the hitch pin holes lined up all you do is turn a knob to snug it to your hitch receiver. It has a secondary pin to place in the hitch pin hole, but the wedge assembly is what keeps the rack in place. This wedge is also the anti-rattle device for your hitch receiver. It eliminates extra movement between your rack and your hitch receiver.
You can also secure the rack to your vehicle by the lock core located in the knob. This rack has padded straps and anti sway cradles to keep your bike from swinging while being transported. It has a tilt down mast so you do not have to remove the rack when its empty to access the rear of your vehicle. You will need an adapter for the step thru bike frame. The Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar, part # Y02531, creates a faux top tube by attaching to the seat post and the handlebar stem. Once in place you hang the bike by the bar on your bike rack.
My recommendation is the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part # KU74FR. It holds your bike by the wheels during transport, which is my preferred method because the clamps that secure your bike to the rack never touch the frame of your bike. It has an anti-rattle hitch pin to eliminate movement between the rack and the hitch receiver. This rack can tilt away from the vehicle, even with bikes on the rack, so you always have access to the rear of the vehicle. This rack comes with cables to secure the bikes to the rack. This rack has a keyed allen wrench to give it extra security. You need a special tool to take the rack off your vehicle. But if you want extra security you can get the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer Bike Racks - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part # HLT.
I have included product description links and video review links below.
