Recommended Ramps To Load Can Am Spyder On Trailer

Question:

Wondering if the 77x50inch trifold ramp can be mounted on my trailer sideways. The Spyder weight is right at 1000 lbs, and the front track width is right at 61. This makes the 50inch nomial width problematic. Will the hinge points stand up to the weight of the Spyder. Have no problem creating mounts to permanently mount on my trailer, if it can take the weight and still trifold.

Due to the design of the CargoSmart Loading Ramp - Aluminum - 77" x 50" - 1,500 lbs # 3483075 you will not be able to use it sideways, as the brackets individual ramps at the bottom and middle would not be supported by anything other than the trifold brackets which are not rated for that.

Your best bet is going to be getting a set of shorter ramps like the Aluminum Car Hauler Ramp Set - 60" x 14-1/2" - 6,000 lbs - Qty 2 # 288-07502. You will need to line up the ramps to the front wheels of your Can Am Spyder and once they are on the trailer you will need to move one of the ramps underneath the center wheel to get it loaded the rest of the way. These ramps are rated at 3000lbs each so there will be no issue since your Spyder only weighs 1000lbs.

I included a video of the # 288-07502 for you to take a look at.
