Need 10 Foot Propane Extension Hose

Question:

Hello, What is the simplest way to connect a 20lb AmeriGas propane tank to a heater with an extension hose? I have acquired multiple connectors and hoses to set it up and it is still not working. Mechanically, all the adapters connect, but the heater does not turn on even when I turn on the tank. Am I incorrectly setting this up or is gas escaping somewhere? Please see attached pic which shows the configuration. One of your advisors mentioned over the phone that I should add a regulator at the tank connection, but this didnt seem to do anything.

It looks like you want a 10' hose that connects to a 20 pound tank (with a type-1 connector) on one end, and a heater with a POL female connector (with regulator) on the other end. The first problem I see is the use of two low-pressure regulators. That will most likely result in pressure too low to operate the appliance.

A really good solution would be a MB Sturgis # 100914-180-MBS which would connect your heater to your 20 pound propane bottle without the need for any additional pieces. However, right now (May 2021) that product is out of stock and likely to be so for weeks.

You could consider replacing the black hose that runs from your heater to the regulator. If that hose is 1/4" on both ends you could use the Camco # CAM59883 hose, however, it is the longest one at 5 foot.
