Question:
Can a 2020 Kia Forte FE manual transmission Sedan be flat towed. We have blue ox tow bar BX7365 rated at 6500lbs. We are towing with 2006 Monaco Camelot with a 10k towing capacity. Engine is a Isl 400 diesel.

Helpful Expert Reply:
A manual transmission equipped vehicle can typically be flat towed with the ignition in the ACC position and the manual transmission in Neutral.
I checked the 2020 Kia Forte owner's manual, which makes no mention of recreationally towing the vehicle so I'd recommend checking with your dealer to ensure the vehicle can be towed just for the sake of safety.
If you confirm that it's acceptable to flat tow, and the vehicle is NOT equipped with fog lights or the Smart Cruise Control feature, we offer the # BX2728 Blue Ox base plate kit. The Blue Ox Alpha tow bar you have would work perfectly for you. You'll also need a # RM-152-98146-7 taillight wiring kit, a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR and possibly a high/low adapter if the 14-1/2 inch installed height of the base plates is more than 3 inches higher or lower than the receiver height on the motorhome. I'll link to an article that explains how to measure for that, as well as to our selection of high/low adapters.
