Which Flat Towing Base Plates for 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Hi. I’m looking for a front tow bar for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have the mounting bars 521424-4 from my 2000 Jeep Wrangler and the front part that goes to the Hitch. I’m not sure what unit I need that I see might work. I see model RM- 521453-5 and RM- 521453-4. I have a plastic bumper it’s a 2021 Rubicon if that helps. Please see pictures.

By 'front tow bar', I'd assuming you're meaning base plates, is that correct?
Unfortunately, the front of the 2021 Wrangler Unlimited is different enough that your old base plate kit won't work. I'd recommend the direct connect # RM-521453-5 over the # RM-521453-4 crossbar style because of it's cleaner look. It also has fewer parts which makes the hook up/disconnect procedure a bit easier. The price is the same, so why not hit the 'easy' button. This is a confirmed fit for your Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.
In addition to the base plates, you'll also need a tow bar like the # RM-522 Falcon All-Terrain, safety cables like # RM-643, taillight wiring like # RM-15267 and a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. If the installed height of the base plates puts the to bar more than 3 inches +/- out of level, you'll also need a high/low adapter to bring it within that range.
