Parts Needed to Install Redarc RED24FR Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on 2021 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

Can you give me a list of items needed to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller in my 2021 4Runner? Looking at my dash, I have 3 or more little rectangular cutouts where I can mount the knob. THANKS!

I'd be happy to help with that. For starters, you'll need the controller itself, part # RED24FR.

Where you'll go from there will depend on if the vehicle is equipped with the factory tow package that includes the 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper. If that's the case, you'll also need the # RED69FR Toyota-specific brake controller wiring harness. To mount the control knob, you could simply drill a hole in an empty switch knockout or a use a # 331-TPSI-002 mounting bezel which would take the place of the switch knock-out. I'd recommend using that lower knockout, you can see this in the linked video.

If you don't have the factory tow package, you'll need to install a functional 4 pole trailer connector, part
# 119250KIT. You'll also need our # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit.

I've linked to an installation video for the Tow-Pro Liberty as well as to videos showing how the # 119250KIT and the # ETBC7 work.
