Recommended Leaf Springs For Triple Axle Boat Trailer W/ 5200lb axles

Question:

I have a tri axle boat trailer. The leaf springs are double eye 5 leaf 5200lb per axle. They are 18 years old and the measurement center of eye to center of eye is 27 1/4inch My question is how much has this spring flattened out and what would be the proper size spring to replace with? I have noticed 25 1/4 seems to be the most popular size.

You are correct that the leaf springs on your triple axle boat trailer have more than likely flattened out and have gotten longer since they are 18 years old.

For a replacement I recommend the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e94SR which measure 26" center of spring eye to center of spring eye and will work perfectly as a replacement. A 25-1/4" spring may work, but it is unlikely that your current springs stretched 2" over time.
