Yakima Parts to Fit American Roll Cover Tonneau Cover on a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have Yakima skyline towers and round bar SL adapters that came with my Truck Covers American Roll Cover but the round bars themselves are currently backordered. From a previous set up, I have Rhino Rack Vortex bars. Will I be able to use the Vortex bars with the Skyline set up? The instructions for the Skyline Towers show some kind of adapter to use with their Jetstream bars but I do not have that yet. I believe this adapter is the same as the HD SL adapter kit? Last resort would be to use Rhino Rack T-FK3 Yakima Fit Kit which I believe would work with the Yakima specific track system. Thanks

The Yakima SkyLine Towers # Y53TR are compatible directly with the JetStream crossbars so no adapter kit is needed, but if you're installing this over a truck bed you need the Yakima HD bars which do require an adapter. Unfortunately, crossbars and leg systems aren't compatible from one manufacturer to the other so you'll need to stick with Yakima crossbars for your application.
If you already have the fit kit (which I believe is 2 of the Landing Pad # Y00221) for the American Track System on your truck bed then you need the 6" Yakima HD Crossbars # Y01158 along with the SL Adapter Kit # Y03541 to fit with the SkyLine towers. This gives you a lower-profile system than a ladder rack but it does increase your cargo-carrying space for sure.
