1/2" Receiver Pin Lock for Bike Racks in Large 2" Receiver Hitch

Question:

We purchased a Vibrelli V70 SPORT BIKE HITCH RACK. The hole in the tongue is 1/2 inch It is made for a 2inch class 3 hitch. The hitch on our Toyota Tundra is hair over 2. The pin that came with the hitch would not latch. We bought a Master Lock 1414DAT Sleeved Pivot Lock Hitch Pin locally. The end will not pivot the full 90 degrees so it wont lock. See photo The Curt Clevis pin shows it measures 3 5/8inch but doesnt indicate the distance to the hole for the clip. It seems that after searching several stores and online that 3 5/8 is the longest 1/2inch pin. Please send the measurement up to the hole for the clip. If there are any other 1/2inch hitch pins that would be longer please advise. In the mean time we are using a bolt, washer and a lock washer. See photo It seems to be very tight. Is there any need for concern? Thank you

With the bike rack only having a 1/2" diameter pin hole that will limit you to pins that are only designed for 1-1/4" receivers. Using a bolt with washer and nut is not a good idea as it is not near as strong as the receiver pins.

The Curt Clevis Pin with Handle and Clip # C45805 is actually 3-5/8" from the collar to the cotter pin. The video will show you the measurements on the product.

I recommend using the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 5200. It will allow you to lock the bike rack onto your Toyota Tundra receiver. With the lock being straight this should allow you easy access to remove the lock when needed. The 1/2" pin will allow a span of 3-1/8" which you can verify will be enough on your receiver.
