Most fireplaces like the Greystone 32" Electric Fireplace with Crystals - Recessed Mount - Black Item # 324-000076 have an overheating protection setting that causes them to turn off to prevent a fire or other damage to the fireplace. This can be fixed by unplugging the fireplace from the outlet for 15 minutes to hard reset it. While it is out I recommend cleaning the vents on the sides and back with compressed air to make sure no dust is clogging up the motor.

If this doesn't fix the issue then you could have a control board issue. You'll have to contact Greystone for this issue but most likely will need to replace the whole unit, which I've attached the a link to our fireplace page if you'd like to switch models.

You could also have a bad outlet or bad wiring to that outlet so I recommend plugging it into another outlet and seeing if it acts the same.
