Hitch-Mounted Bike Rack For 2 Electric Bikes That Clears The Spare Tire On 2011 RAV4
Question:
I have an older 2012 Rav4 with the tire on the back and a 2inch hitch. I have 6 and 3/4inch tire clearance from center pin to the where tire cover ends. I would like a rack to fit 2 e-bikes without the bikes hitting the tire cover. Suggestions please.

There are a few bike racks that will clear the spare tire on the back of your 2012 Toyota RAV4. I recommend looking into the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SA4412B. The closest wheel tray on this carrier measures 12" from the hitch pin hole, which will give you more than enough clearance for your spare tire. This bike rack can accommodate two electric bikes weighing up to 60lbs each and it can hold tires up to 2-1/4" wide. Soft adjustable cradles secure the bikes by the frame, making it compatible with bikes that have fenders or baskets.
If you have a fat bike with tires wider than 2-1/4", then you will want to go with the fat bike version of this carrier # SA4412B-FB which can hold up to 5" wide tires. The closest wheel tray on the fat bike version is 10" from the hitch pin hole which is still plenty of clearance for your situation.
Last but not least, I recommend adding 8' Cable Lock and Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SA984 to keep your bike and bike rack locked to the vehicle. I attached a few demonstration videos for you to check out.
