Compatibility of Hollywood Racks # HR1450Z Sport Rider Bike Rack with 2014 Subaru Forester

Question:

I have a Drawtight hitch on a 2014 Subaru Forester. How much clearance is there between the inside bike and the hatch/bumper in the upright traveling position? Thanks.

When we installed a Draw-Tite Class III hitch on a 2014 Forester, we found that the hitch pin hole was recessed under the rear bumper by 7 inches. As you can see in the photo I've edited for you, the closest portion of the bike rack is 8-1/2 inches rearward from the hitch pin hole and the closest wheel hoop is 12 inches rearward.

I can't tell you how much clearance there'll be between the inside bike and the rear hatch because that'll vary from bike to bike, but the bike will be widest at its pedals and handlebars. These portions of the bikes will be at a higher elevation than the rear bumper of the car, so there'll be more than enough room for the bike to fit.
