Replacement Shank for a Thule Expressway Bike Rack to Fit in a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
Will the Thule Replacement Aluminum Shank Adapter - 1-1/4inch to 2inch part # 853-7292 work with a Thule 995xt Expressway bike rack. If not, what would work with the 995xt. I just replaced my suv and instead of being a 1-1/4 inch receiver I now have a 2 inch receiver. Also what pin would go with the solution.

The shank for the Expressway bike racks has an L-shape with the vertical part welded to the horizontal part. Replacement shank # 853-7292 will not work as a replacement because of the original design of the Expressway. You would have to use a reducer to use the 1-1/4 inch shank in the 2 inch receiver.
You can use # HT02. The use of this adapter does not reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch and it comes with a pin for the part that fits in the 2 inch receiver. A 1/2 inch diameter pin is not included so if you needed to add one use # PC2. Or for a locking pin use # e98880 for the 2 inch part and # e98880 for the 1-1/4 inch part.
