How to Determine Which 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter is Needed for Prowler 5th Wheel
Question:
I have a prowler 32.5 ft 5th wheel and want to convert to a goose neck ball how tall should the adapter be. Chevy Silverado 2500 with a cm flat bed

Expert Reply:
In order to determine the size of the adapter needed to convert your 5th wheel trailer for use with a gooseneck hitch you will need to measure the distance from the top of the gooseneck ball to the bottom of the pinbox (not the kingpin). You can do this by getting the trailer level and then backing up as if you were going to hitch the trailer up. The distance between the gooseneck ball and the pinbox will be the height of the adapter needed.
The Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5G is designed to work for 12"-16" height differences. If you find that your truck and trailer have a different distance and can provide that information I can look to see if there is an alternative to the Convert-A-Ball.
