Bias Ply vs Radial Construction Tires for Highway Use 205/75-15

Question:

Our 2011 freedom cargo trailer : st205/75d15 h188 are the current tires that need to be replaced. But wondering since we will be pulling the trailer clear from one side of Canada to other side would it be best to get r15 tires instead for use on the highway? But we will still have a heavy load to pull, so what do you think?

Expert Reply:

I recommend going with the radial construction tires over the bias ply. Radial works better on the highway where as the bias are much better at home off road.

The Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10245 are the ones I recommend for you to use on your 2011 Freedom Cargo Trailer. These are very dependable tires and they work very well in the wet and snow thanks to their computer-generated tread design.

I recommend using a TireMinder i10 TPMS # TM89FR to use with the long trips that you are making. These will alert you of any sudden pressure drops or temperature spikes that can help you fix an issue before you have a blowout that might damage the trailer or the cargo that you are hauling.
