RDJ-2K Tongue Jack Weight Rating for 2015 Jayco Jayfeather Travel Trailer

Question:

Hello, Does the 2,000 lbs refer to the tongue weight or the overall weight of the trailer? My father purchased The Ultimate Trailer Jack RDJ-2K for my birthday to use on my 2015 Jayco Jayfeather x17z. My x17z has a dry weight of 2785 and dry hitch weight of 340lbs. I just want to make sure this jack is safe to use with my RV? Thank you.

On the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K that is the lifting capacity(2,000lbs) or the amount of tongue weight the camper has. It is capable of supporting 3,000lbs as long as its not raising or lowering. What that means is when you are using the camper the added weight of the people using it and everything else inside shouldn't exceed 3,000lbs on just the tongue jack. I don't see your 2015 Jayco Jayfeather x17z coming close to either of those weights, so you are safe to install it on your RV.

You could also use a Removable 6" Caster # JC-102 at it would make moving and connecting to your Jayfeather easier. The addition of this would lower your capacity to 1,200lbs of tongue weight for lifting or supporting.
