Equal-i-zer EQ95-01-5950 Pole Tongue Adapter Wont Stay Tight
Question:
I just set up my Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch for my boat trailer. Its the 14,000lb model. I used your Equal-i-zer tongue adapter EQ95-01-5950 as part of my install. At the end of my test tow, the tongue adapter had moved forward on the trailer tongue about 1/2 an inch and was loose. I had tightened the tongue adapter to the correct torque specs when I installed the unit. It was clear the bolts holding the brackets to the tongue adapter had moved slightly in their tracks and allowed the brackets to loosen. Please advise.

I spoke with my contact at Progress Manufacturing, the parent company of Equal-i-zer.
They advised that you should reposition the adapter back in the correct position, using a c-clamp to hold the adapter in place. Remove one bolt at a time, and apply blue Loctite such as part # LT37643 to the bolts, then retorque as outlined in the instructions. I was told that the bolts can loosen a bit the first time they're under stress but this this should fix the issue.
