Troubleshooting Pole Tongue Adapter #EQ95-01-5950 Fit Issue Due To Coupler Length and Brake Line

Question:

I have a EQ95-01-5950 pole tongue adapter Im putting on my boat with electric brakes. Titan / Dico Model 10 Boat Trailer Disc Brake Actuator Surge Coupler 12,500lbs, 4750600#. The end of the coupler is 27inch from center of the ball. However the Reverse flow solenoid on the end extends 7 inches beyond the end of the coupler. Have an equalizer 4 point wdh that the bares are supposed to mount 27-32inch away from ball. Can the equalizer pole tongue adapter be mounted below the trailer tongue with the bolt on top of the tongue instead of below, to avoid the solenoid? The pole tongue adapter on top of the tongue is 8inch away from the rear of the coupler, which is a total of 35inch away from the ball.

I checked with my tech contact at Equal-I-zer and the Pole-Tongue Adapter # EQ95-01-5950 and they have not tested the adapter mounted upside down. They said they wouldn't recommend it because the entire weight of the system would be on that one bolt if it were installed on the underside.

Instead, I recommend you use the Titan Hydraulic Brake Line with Fittings # T4890700 to go up and over your adapter. That flexible extension will allow you to mount the adapter at 32 inches and not interfere with your brake line or actuator.

Your other option would be to have the adapter professionally welded to the underside of your trailer tongue to ensure the strength of the system.
