Determining How Tall of A Tire Can Be Used On A Trailer  

Question:

I have a 16foot tandem axle trailer with 3500 pound axels. The wheels that are in them now are very they are 20.5x8x10s. I have 7inch gap in between the tires seems like I could only fit some 25inch tires but open to any other ideas

If your current tires are 20.5" tall and you have a 7" gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender you can definitely fit taller tires.

A tire like the Castle Rock ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # LHCK201 would be a great option that is 26.1" tall which is just over 5.5" taller than your current tires but since only half of that increase is on the top of the tire you will still have just over 4" clearance which is what is recommended for proper suspension travel.

Your 3500lb hub more than likely uses the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, but I recommend confirming this by measuring your current wheels following the included help article.
