Parts Needed to Add Brakes to a Trailer Axle  

Question:

I need you to set me up with a trailer brake kit . I have a 2 3/4 axle diameter. I need a #4 35 mounting plate to weld on . Not sure what backingplate. And drum to get . Can you set me up with all of the components. Louie V

The Brake Mounting Flange for 2-3/8" Round Axles that you would need is # 4-35. As far as brakes go for your set up, I recommend # 23-26-27. There are a few different bolt patterns that will determine what drums you get and you will want to match them to your wheels.

We have the following that will match up with the brakes and mounting plates above:

- 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern - # AKHD-545-35-K

- 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern - # AKHD-5475-35-K

- 5 on 5" bolt pattern - # 84556UC3-EZ

- 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern - 84656UC3-EZ
