Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For Towing Small Boat Trailer With 2021 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
Could you recommend the proper receiver for my 2021 Chevy Equinox. The car is rated for no more than 1500 lbs. I tow a small boat and trailer around 1200 lbs.

As long as your 2021 Chevrolet Equinox does not have the Diesel engine I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C77FR due to it having a 2" receiver which gives you many options when it comes to accessories like a bike rack, cargo carrier, or a ball mount for towing your small boat trailer. The # C77FR has a 675lb tongue weight rating and 4500lb trailer weight rating, and while that exceeds the towing capacity you mentioned that is not a bad thing as you know the hitch is strong enough to support any of the loads you will be towing.
To power the lights on your trailer you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # C94FR if your Equniox has the factory towing package, # 118750 if it doesn't and is NOT a premier model, or # 118759 if it doesn't and IS a premier model.
Lastly you will need a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
