Is It Possible To Tow A 5th Wheel Trailer With A Lifted 2018 Ram 2500?
Question:
I have a question about whether my 2018 Ram 2500 will be able to pull a 5th wheel. My truck has a lift to it and I was looking at a 2017 Jayco 24.5 CKTS. I have some measurements of the ground to bed of truck and pinbox to ground but it looks like the difference is only 8-10 inches. Is there a way to adjust this? How can I tow this 5th wheel safely? If at all Thanks

It is possible that you will still be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer with your lifted 2018 Ram 2500, but it can definitely be tricky due to the lift.
Since pin boxes on 5th wheel trailers do have some height adjustment, and 5th wheel hitches have different height ranges it may be possible to get the trailer close to level even with your truck being lifted.
More than likely you will also need to lift your trailer to be able to get the 5" - 6" clearance from the bottom of the trailer extension to the top of the bed while keeping the trailer close to level. The easiest option for a lift is an over-under kit like the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 if the trailer has 3" diameter axles, or # K71-384-00 if the trailer has 2-3/8" diameter axles. An over under kit raises the height of the trailer by the diameter of the axle plus the height of the spring pack and is a great choice to help get a trailer level when towing with a truck that is lifted.
I included links to the products mentioned, and a link to a helpful article for you to take a look at.
