Can I Use Double Hook Safety Cables with Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar and Direct Connect Base Plates
Question:
I have a Jeep Cherokee trailhawk With a road master direct connect base plate and a sterling all retain. We changed vehicles to the Jeep. If I get new cables with hooks on both end instead of the current ball end cables will it be safe to use the sterling with a direct connect instead of the bar type baseplate

Expert Reply:
Yes. You can really use any safety cables with your Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain # RM-576 as long as your base plates have a connection spot on them for the hooks; the Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plates # RM-521446-5 for a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk have spots to connect hook ends on safety cables. You can use a set of double hook safety cables like the # RM-646 to connect from the RV to your base plates.
If you've got a different year Cherokee Trailhawk and need help picking out base plates, just let me know and I'm happy to assist.
