What Bearings Are Used in the Kodiak Disc Brake Kits for 2000-lbs and 3500-lbs Axles

Question:

Good morning Im looking to find brakes for a homemade crosskart buggy with 10 wheel on a hyundai elantra spindle. Could you send the schematics for the 8 trailer rotors Item # K2HR2D and Kit # K2HR35D-8 to see if I can adapt to my application. Thanks and Good Day

I have information that you might find helpful, but we do not have a schematic drawing of these parts available. With that said, if you've got a spindle from a Hyundai Elantra on this buggy then you're most likely only going to be able use parts that also fit on a Hyundai Elantra- which trailer parts most likely will not. However, I can tell you that the Kodiak # K2HR2D uses # L44649 bearings for the inner and outer bearing, so they're designed for a straight spindle with a 1.063" diameter, so you'll want to measure the diameter of the spindle to determine if these would work. The Kodiak # K2HR35D-8 uses an #L68149 inner bearing (1.378" inner diameter) and # L44649 outer bearing (1.063" inner diameter).

Both of these brake kits require a hydraulic actuator that provides at least 1500psi of pressure.

If you find that one of these will work with your spindle, you'll just want to make sure your brake system provides sufficient pressure to actuate these brakes.
