Can I Swap a Mopar M20 5th Wheel Hitch Head with a Curt Q25 Hitch Head

Question:

I bought the m20 curt/ mopar 5th wheel hitch and it keeps wearing out bushing - 2 years old and replaced head twice - wondering if I was sold too light of hitch - Im pulling a toy hauler - 18000 lbs plus gear - can i replace m20 head only for m25 ? What is the difference and will it bolt up to m20 base ?- thanks

Yes. You can swap out your Mopar M20 series hitch head with a Curt Q series head like the Replacement Head Unit for Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 25,000 lbs # C16565 and it will work just fine. The difference between the Curt Q20 (Mopar M20) and Q25 is the jaw strength and head plate are designed for higher weight trailers, but most of the internal components are the same including the bushings. However, a stronger head should take a little bit of stress off some of the components as you might be pushing the limits of the current hitch. This head will connect to your existing legs that fit in the pucks on your 2018 Ram 3500.

I've linked a review video of this for you to check out, as well.
