Adding Rollers, a Winch, and Straps to a Malone MicroSportXT

Question:

I own a Malone MicroSport XT trailer and am looking at getting a keel roller and winch. Im not looking for something that supports a ton of weight, for this will be used for a long 13.5 kayak. Just something to 1 hold the stern forward and 2 make it easy to load on/off the trailer. I know the tongue is 2 wide. I would like your recommendation for: 1. keel roller 2. winch cable or strap? 3. cables/strap 4. mounting bracket for both Thanks!

We have all of the components you are looking for to turn your MicroSportXT, part # MPG460XT, into a mini boat trailer!

For your rollers, I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk, part # DL21741. They have a 5' span so they will reach across your crossbars. To mount these, use the Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Bracket, part # DL21742. I've linked to a video installation of both of these for you to look at. Please note that you will need to find a 1-1/4" u-bolt and mounting bolts at your local hardware store.

For your winch, I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, part # DL16003. It can handle up to 400 pounds and are meant to be bolted into the trailer's tongue (drilling required). I've linked to a video review of this winch for you.

For your strap, I recommend the Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops, part # TH855XT. I've linked to a video review of this as well.
