Question:

Im looking for economical trailer brakes for 16 foot utility trailer, axle is 5200 to 6000 pound, not sure because super old, no tags, 3 in diameter, 6 leaf springs, looking for new wiring as well, 7 pin, heaviest load is 7K skid loader, pull about 2-3 times per month with heaviest load. Please advise. Very Respectfully,

For replacement electric trailer brakes for your 16' utility trailer with 5200-6000lb axles I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA due to them being self-adjusting meaning once you have them installed you will not need periodic adjustments like you would with standard brakes.

If your mounting hardware is in need of replacing I recommend the # BRKH12.

Moving on to new 7-way wiring I recommend the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector # HS381-9000 which will give you the new 7-way connector you need, and a junction box to make all of your wiring connections.

For wire to run from your new trailer brakes to the junction box you would want # 12-2-1.
