How Does the Slider Mechanism on the B&W Patriot Work

Question:

I am curious how the slider mechanism works and engages. I would like to purchase a slider base but I am unable to see how it holds the hitch securely in place. I believe it would be strong but would like to see how it works and have been unable to find any information or photos.

We've actually done a video of the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BWRVK3270 that shows how the slider works; it's really just a lever on the base that releases and allows the hitch head to slide freely towards the rear. The Patriot slider will provide you with 12" of additional clearance from your truck cab when installed. I've also linked a photo of this lever, but I don't have any photos of the actual manner that it holds the hitch head in place. With that said, we've never seen or heard of any issues with the slider lever not holding the hitch head securely in place and B&W is well known for the quality and durability of their hitches.

I've linked the video I mentioned to this answer for you to check out.
