Increasing Space Between Your Tires & Fenders On Your Trailer

Question:

I have a 20ft East Texas Longhorn bumper pull tandem axle car hauler. 5 lug / 3500# axles. The space between the tires and fenders is not much. Would an over under conversion be best option or new stiffer springs?

The Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 would help increase the space between your tires and fenders. This kit works for 3" diameter axle tubes and is the simplest solution. For 2-3/8" axles you can use this kit # K71-384-00. Heavier springs will help it from rubbing but will really stiffen your ride.

Another potential solution that will increase your ride quality would be a SumoSpring. This might just give you just enough support to keep the space between your tires and your fenders from hitting zero. We have some for an underslung axle # TSS-106-40 and for overslung axles # TSS-107-40.

If you're wanting to go with stiffer springs we would need to know more about your springs measurements.
