I may have an option for you, but while researching flat towing I found that the owner's manual for your 2007 Mazda 3 mentions that your vehicle should not be flat towed. With that being said Blue Ox does offer a base plate kit for your vehicle leading me to believe that there are modifications that can be made to allow you to flat tow your vehicle but I was unable to find out exactly what may need to be done.

If you choose to go the flat tow route you will need the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2523 as it is the only base plate kit confirmed to fit your Mazda 3, but it will not work with the Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bar # RM-501 you mentioned. For a compatible tow bar you would need to use the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380 instead.

The option I recommend is using a tow dolly, as your vehicle can be towed on a tow dolly with no modifications. I recommend taking a look at the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1 which is designed for vehicles with a track width up to 77" wide. Since your Mazda 3 has a track width of 60" it will fit perfectly.

Your tow vehicle will also need a electric trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, and a ball mount, 2" hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.

I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
